The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Garrard RC-60 record changer (not original to this radio)

The original changer was a Webster-Chicago as I recall. I don't remember what happened to it. (It was 57 years ago!) The Garrard pickup was slightly modified to hold a GE RPX magnetic cartridge. A single tube preamp is hidden under the changer. It sounds wonderful.

Tom;

That's neat. Not many changers had direct drive. Having a speed governor is a real plus with such a design.

Joe,

It was 78RPM only. The motor is direct drive right to the turntable. The motor also has a governor arrangement similar to wind-up phonographs. I believe the RC-60 is post war. The RC-30 was pre-war and very similar to this one.

Tom;

Is this one a 78rpm only or does it have other speeds?
