The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Hello, I have a AW23 in a Napier cabinet and currently the screws that hold the RF plate are rounded head.  Should I replace them with counter-sunk screws, or are the rounded head screws correct to this set?

Thanks, Eric

Yes it is a Radio Frequency (RF) shield. During service  the big full width bottom plate is removed for access to internal parts. Absence of the big metal plate would alter the adjustment of some coils but for the smaller RF shield staying in place.  There are several small holes in the smaller shield to allow inserting adjusting tools during alignment procedures.

Originally screws that hold the smaller bottom place were 6 small machine flat head screws so they were flush to the front and back of the receiver chassis. Today, probably easier to find Phillips flat head machine screws.

Eric was referring to the inner bottom shield.

Hi David, I was referencing the plate that covers underneath the radio chassis.  I have no understanding of electronics, and someone told me that it was the RF plate;is it some kind of shield?

Norman has answered my question, thanks for your willingness to help!
