The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

This is my one and only Scott some think the cabinet isn't a true Scott and has been custom made for this radio. Has anyone seen this cabinet made by Scott?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info on your cabinet. My cabinet dimensions are close to your's in some ways. This cabinet is 16" deep, rear width 30 1/2", front width 24" from back to front, sides 12 1/4" to a 4 1/2" bevel then to the 24 " front , 47 1/2" tall, door opening 12 1/2" wide 9 1/4" tall, front tweeter opening 20" wide 5" high, 9 vertical sound dispersing slats at the front grill, two side speaker grills but no speakers 20 1/4 vertical 5 1/4 wide. The receiver sets on a flat shelf with the only opening the front two doors.

I will check out the site's archives later today after getting back from taking the granddaughter to camp.

Thanks again for your info.

Charley

For a photo like mine, go to this site's archives folder,  select cabinet folder and scroll down through the cabinets, which are in alpha order.

There is a front view of the Laureate Grande and also an angle view photo showing the side  grils, etc.

Incidentally, when the Philharmonic was introduced in 1937, this cabinet and a few others were enlarged and made several inches deeper to accommodate the larger and taller Philharmonic. This enlarged version Laureate Grande cabinet with Mr Scott is shown on the cover of the new Scott Guide 2nd Edition just announced Monday evening.

Hi  Charlie.

Very handsome but appears a custom inspired by the Laureate Grande cabinet.

My AW-23 sized example: 47" tall, 31" wide,16 3/4" deep. 9 vertical sound dispersing slats for the speaker grill.

tweeter grill 5 1/5"  x 17 1/2" .  Controls doors opening is 12 1/2 wide.

And the receiver sits on a shelf canted at nearly 40 degrees so the control panel faces the person standing in front of it.

The whole top lifts up. And the small section (12 1/2 x 5 1/2) above the doors also tips back.
