EH Scott Radio Enthusiasts

The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Available - Scott Super 12 restored and working well

My house rule is add a console, release a console due to space limitations.

I acquired this Scott Super 12 over 10 years ago and performed a full electronic restoration including filter cap replacements and extensive replacement of wax caps. It is the earlier single chassis version and has the Stradivarius dial.  Has the correct Scott labeled Magnavox 12 inch field coil speaker with 5 pin plug.  I also installed a CL-90 Thermister (inrush limiter) for a soft start power up. Has all the correct tube chrome plated tube covers and the tuner has a full set of "G"  tubes, except the 6V6's are GT version. I just checked the 6V6-GT output tubes on my Hickok 600 tube tester - they test about 90% and are closely matched.  This radio plays strong and I run it periodically sometimes with an FM tuner on the phono input. The chrome plate is very good, say 95% because of a couple blemishes.

The cabinet is the BRAEMER with very good original finish. Has wonderful  early version Australian Laurel veneers.  I installed the repo Scott "M" cloth.

Will include a copy of the owners Instruction Manual.

*This radio will be "for sale" at the MARC meet in Kalamazoo July 13-14.

Any question or interest, email: dcp944@yahoo.com.

I will add some photos later today.

The magic eye is bright. My i-phone did not deal well with the eye, but actually is bright with a dark shadow as it should look.

Note also in the rear view photo above, I had made a new cable with appropriate color stranded wire to replace the original cable.

Very nice! What console did you add, to make you want to sell such a nice beast?

First, now that I pulled the tuner, there is an area of chrome between some tubes not as nice as I remember, so revise the chrome to 85%-90%. Even so, nicest Braemer cabinet have seen.

Brad, I acquired a Milton console (AW-12). There is a photo of this model cabinet in the Scott site cabinet folder
