The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Having trouble with my 800 B tuning, When pressing in a station button after the dial gets to the set point, motor overtravels and reverses direction then goes back and forth until I release the button. is this a sign of  over worn contacts on the rotating plate at the rear of the chassis? thank you for any help you can give. Worn contacts are one cause but a dirty commutator insulator is another.  Try cleaning the commutator (insulator and contact surfaces) and lubricate with a small amount of light oil.
