David,

I completely missed that posting. Cabinet is quite presentable. Logistics for transport might be a challenge (local pickup only) but I am looking into options.

Thank you for the heads-up!

This cabinet is very presentable and is drilled for your late version AW-23. Just needs speaker cloth.

If the seller is including the escutcheons, even better.

It is a long distance from you but shipping is possible.

Considering you have zero cost in your complete radio so far, a cabinet purchase may be appropriate.

Please see photoshopped image of the inside of an allwave 23 front panel, the holes are symmetrical, so I have only shown dimensions for one side.

Mike,

Thank you for the dimensions. I think that I will be able to lay out a template with what you have provided. Here goes!

Fran

Here is a couple of pictures of my aw15, I think that the dimensions for the aw23 are similar,

it looks like the distance between the center of the tuning control and the bottom screw of the bezel is

0.84 inches or so, or 3.5 inches from the bezel top screw, a suggestion is to cut a hole in a piece of card to fit the bezel and juggle the measurements to fit,

the bezel hole is trapezoid with the smaller dimension at the top,

Greetings,

I am well on my way to bring all the missing bits together to complete this Allwave 23.

Would anyone be able to supply either a pattern for the front panel for the Allwave 23 7 knob, or at the very least, the size and shape of the dial opening and the distance from the top of the tuning shaft? I can layout the holes necessary for all of the switch shafts, but I need to reference the dial opening.

Thank you,

The fact that it has the resistor is interesting. Apparently the speaker was designed to work with and without the tweeters like the usual version with sockets on the foot and a jumper cable out the back.
