Regarding your Braemer cabinet, while I tend to agree the accents and columns seem dark enough to suggest a refinished cabinet, there are some variation seen in original finish cabinets over the several year run of this cabinet. Look carefully on the rear edges of the sides, top and the speaker opening for signs of finish removal and refinish work. Bases are often a little darker.

Quandary over the Braemer coloring. Most I see are rather monotone Brown. Though this one appears to have been re-lacquered, here's enough evidence the columns, plinth, grill, and top are purposely darkened to highlight sides and dash. What you say ?
