The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

A conversation on another forum got me thinking...did Scott actively build and market 25-40 cycle versions of their models? Or were they modified to suit, if you needed one?

I've only seen a picture of one power supply with a 25 cycle transformer on it, and it wasn't chrome plated...so may have been an aftermarket modification?

Brad -

They did advertise a 25/50 cycle supply for the 1931 Allwave (2-dial) set, it is shown in the price lists. I also have a 25-cycle Philharmonic. The amp chassis is abut 3/4 in longer to accommodate the <huge> transformer needed for 25 cycle operation. However, I cannot find any advertising other than the 1931 set. Scott was a custom builder - I'm sure if you asked, they would make a 25 cycle set...
