As most of you know, I've been gathering and analyzing Scott serial numbers for over 20 years. I have a couple requests....first, if you haven't sent me your serial numbers, please do. Also...if any of you have a confirmed date for a set/serial number, please send me that. There is a warranty tag on ebay at the moment, these are great, since they have the date and serial number on them. A letter with a date is also good confirmation. I would greatly appreciate any info you fellows can provide. I'll post more about serial numbers here in the future.
Bob - this particular thread is really for serial number gathering.
Suggest you open a new thread in the FORUM for further dialog and for questions for your Philharmonic. Maybe start with a photo of your front with dial. and the cabinet. As you acquired it from Alex, maybe it had an extensive electronic restoration. But if not, cap replacement is a considerable project - some hidden in various assemblies.
Also, try a search on this site for "Philharmonic" as there are many threads in the Forum and Blogs to expand your familiarity.
Thank you, David. I will do that so others may see this. It's just a neat radio that I have wanted for many years and am now enjoying the beginning of my restoration. It appears as though the power supply was updated with capacitor replacement but I am sure I will do both the power supply and receiver.
