The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Re stuffing the caps on my allwave fifteen I noticed that the screen grid on the first if amp had at one time an axial 0.1uf wax type cap and not a bathtub as shown in later sets.

The chassis was recapped before I owned the set but there are tell tale lead remnants between the screen grid pin and the chassis lug, the soldering here is original and undisturbed, it looks like the original cap has been snipped out and it's replacement soldered to the old leads, as this is a fairly early model and Scott was making production changes, can anyone shed some light on this and tell me if this is how it left the factory, as I intend to make a fake wax cap to replace the existing one.

the cap in question is circled in green in the photo

many thanks

Mike

I forgot to mention,
This photo was taken shortly after I acquired the set, most bathtubs have been stuffed and reinstated.
