Scott Philharmonic in custom Orinoco cabinet offered on EBay

Hello Scott fans, we are currently fielding cash offers and happy to entertain interesting (non-radio)  trades and partial trades.  This is a one of a kind 1937 Scott Philharmonic with great provenance procured from the original owner/estate...a fabulous custom home in Westchester County, NY.  Missing are speaker and amplifier, otherwise museum quality.  We would love for it to end up with a true aficionado.  Take a look at the EBay link and feel free to ask questions here! Thanks for looking!

Dear Marc:

For some reason I just can't leave this alone! As a last question to support my request for a final report from you when the set finds a home: If I were going to build one of these, I would go out and purchase a genuine antique Georgian or Edwardian inlaid, banded, flame mahogany bow front triple wardrobe for about $4000 delivered, and install a nice restored FM Philharmonic in it. I would then have the genuine article twice over, for about $6000. What have I missed?

Well Tim, that does sound like a plan and I wish you luck with it. Car collectors do something similar with kits. A Cobra kit car is a great replica at about 1/10th the price. But, while it is gorgeous, it's not original.  You should also consider that the market sets the price and based on the responses we are getting I can tell you that there are more than a few people who do not feel the same way as you about this very rare and special piece of history.  What you have missed is that it's not for everyone, and that's OK.

Dear Marc:

Peace, brother. I did miss that. Where would I put a genuine antique Georgian or Edwardian inlaid, banded, flame mahogany bow front triple wardrobe?
