The Fine Things are Always Hand Made
Since the original coaxial speaker did not come with my 800B, I decided to get new speakers to work with it. Although some OEM speakers are available, I do not choose to spend a lot of money for something that I do not know the quality of. It is likely that any OEM speaker I could find would be defective in some way thus requiring repair.
I chose to get a Dayton Audio DC-380-8 15 inch woofer, a Vistadon BG13-P mid-tweeter driver and an Eminence PX:500B two-way crossover. The 500Hz crossover will be right in a smooth portion of the response curve of both drivers. Both have reasonably high efficiency at about 92dB at 1Watt at 1 Meter. Their power ratings exceed that of the Scott receiver, so that should not be an issue.
I will most likely install both the radio chassis and the speakers in a custom cabinet so that it can fit in with our den furniture. Later on if the equipment goes to another person they can look for an OEM speaker and cabinet if they desire.
