Thanks David.... Started process with Windex, the alcohol content goes a long way. Then to the organic, Acetone for grease and followed my 4 ought which leaves no detrimental affects.
Cans have 2 threaded bayonet studs, tedious to remove. Not doing so leaves an otherwise well intended rebuild, half-baked. Condensers beneath are plentiful.

As you have various portions of the chassis and covers exposed is the time to deal with the rust and grime.

I like Turtle liquid chrome polish which also leaves some residual protection. Use a more generous application on some squares of old towel to get the worst or rust and grit, but don't rub too hard to avoid scratching the chrome. Then a second time with a new cloth to remove the rest of the rust and grime. Brightening up the chrome will increase your enthusiasm.
