The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

In this picture I had reinstalled the wood trim panel after finishing the cleaning of the front of the radio chassis.

Dave;

Thanks for the kind words. I do indeed have the glass from the donor and may use it. I plan to look for a suitable paint at Hobby Lobby to apply. If I can identify a good paint to use I will share it with the membership.

This particular wood trim does have a chip of the veneer missing right under the tuning knob. I think this one is mahogany wood and I may be able to find a piece that I can use to repair it if I decide to stay with mahogany wood for a cabinet. Mahogany wood has a really nice sheen that shows through a lacquer finish. It is a very beautiful wood, but there are others. I will be watching for an original cabinet as time goes by.

Nice restore Joe, thanks for sharing. If you have an extra dial glass from the donor, I could use it.
