The Fine Things are Always Hand Made
An all original Zenith 15U269 console from 1938. Super Deco design and a great player with plenty of bass. Zenith made four (4) different cabinet styles for their fifteen (15) tube chassis and speaker in 1938 but the other three (3) cabinets were very Victorian and Gothic. This cabinet in my opinion is the best match of radio escutcheon and cabinet design reflecting the great Deco styles of the day.

Its done whenever Bruce gets here to pick it up. I won't spoil things by posting the picture of Bruce's radio. I have one of my own that I use as the Daily Player.Kent's radio looks very nice. It looks like a nice original finish. I also agree with Kent about the different cabinets for this chassis. I had a 15U270 that I completed around the same time as this 15U269 and after looking at both radios for a few months decided would be happier keeping the 15U269 so sold the other one.

Bruce,
How is your Zenith 15U269 coming? Have you gotten it back yet? Send me some photos if you have. The small framed picture of my set on the wall in my picture is a picture and article I wrote about the set.

I have decided also the 15U-269 will be my only Zenith in my collection. I have been selling off the others I have as Zeniths have a following and people want to spend money for one of them. The above photo is the as purchased "before" picture off ebay of mine, before it got a complete restoration by John and Jean Goller.
I will be picking it up in the next month or so and bringing it home.
