The Masterpiece model was a low production model. a very solid performer. And impressive sounding with an FM tuner or CD player into the phono input.

To find the owners manual. go to the info archive at the top of this page. Select SET FOLDERS, then MASTERPIECE. there you will find technical information and the owners manual.

Do not power up this radio until it has been serviced, lest failing capacitors cause expensive damage.

The Model is the Scott Masterpiece , a 14 tube radio with short wave bands - introduced mid 1939 and available into 1941. It is the "smallest" of the three E H  Scott Labs models.  (The other models were the 20 tube Phantom Deluxe and 30 tube Philharmonic And starting 1940, and there were FM versions with higher tube counts). Scott radios of the 1930's were custom built, each upon receipt of the purchase order and shipped in 2 to 4 weeks usually.

Scott built radios, but not cabinets. Rather, Scott had arrangements for several furniture quality cabinets exclusive for customers, most built by Rockford Peerless Furniture Co, in Rockford Illinois. Your cabinet is the Wellington, having provision for the optional phono under the lift top.
