Green Phenolic Dial Material

Has anyone come up with a better source for replacing the original green phenolic dial material? So far, the best I can come up with is a poly folder.  (Pic included)

I have used green theater jel sheet glued to the original dyed phenolic dial back plate.

Normans suggestion is the best one, I have tried using a full face welding mask but the green is too dark, when placed behind the dial it's almost black.

Using theater jels you can use several layers and tints to achieve the correct shade.

If you can get the original backing off of the dial, be careful as the dial lettering may come off with the backing sheet, you can use 1200 grit wet sandpaper (wet) to remove any discoloration followed by a gentle polish with a finishing compound like mothers mag or brasso but dont make it shiny.

The backing sheet is quite robust mine has a loss of pigment where the radio was tuned to one station and must have been playing for many hours,
