EH Scott Radio Enthusiasts

The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Hello, I am cleaning out my 98 yr old grandpa's house and there is a very nice Scott Radio/record player here. It has all the originall ppwk. This is what I know...originally purchased Chippendale console, FM/AM philharmonic radio serial #LL-411. Record player plays 78, 45 & 33 ⅓ records. We are trying to get a value to sell this radio and I want to be fair to everyone. Any advise? Thanks in advance?

The value will depend greatly on the condition of the cabinet and chassis and the options that may have been included.  Pictures will be of great help in assessing a reasonable range of values.  Without this information I can tell you that the Chippendale console is a somewhat hard sell because of its large size and the limited amount of space collectors are willing to allocate to a single radio.  There are however some collectors that are seeking the larger radio-phonograph combinations.  Also, the original record changer is a very hard to find 78-rpm only model that has been replaced with the three speed record changer in the console today.
