The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

I just scored a Napier cabinet on eBay and will be picking it up on Friday. The veneer is completely missing from the front, base apron. Does anyone have clear pictures of a Napier base. In the not so clear pictures I have been able to find, it seems to have a striped effect. It this just carefully chosen walnut strips? Or is it some other type of wood?

Scott - my Napier had a varied life. There is white overspray behind the legs and speaker grill and had white cloth.

Then had been subsequently striped and poorly re-finished with many runs. Then I acquired it. The original finish protected it from the white finish getting into the wood veneers. I repaired damaged front base veneer. I leveled the varnish, added several thinned shellac coats, rubbed it out and polished with auto compound to a near "piano" finish. It is very nice now.
