The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Hello all,

I'm working on restoring the cabinet for my Phantom Deluxe.  This is the model without FM. The veneer on the sides is almost totally delaminated and has some bad gouges in it so I want to replace it.  The only problem is that I don't know what species of wood was used on the original.  Can anyone be of some help here?  I've done re-veneering before so I don't need help with that part, only identifying the wood.  Thanks

Tom

Scott had several cabinets to choose from. post a photo.

Without knowing what your cabinet is, my guess is that it's walnut veneer.  Most all radios had walnut veneer on the sides.
