The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Hello,

What kind of high frequency speakers were used with 30 tube Philharmonic (15" pedestal speaker)?

Were those Q4 silver color?

They are silver in color and are marked SPEC-1-D-1048, 1886A and SPEC-1-D-1049, 1886B.  They are steel magnet speakers with covers on the back.  I do not believe these are Q4 speakers but lacking markings where such a designation would be placed (on the rim of the basket), I cannot say for sure that they are not Q4 series tweeters.

Thank you, Norman!

There are a pair of speakers on Ebay right now - pictures attached. Was thinking if they fit my Philharmonic, which originally came without tweeters, but I guess there is a connector on 15" pedestal speaker for them.

Leonid:  Those are from a Scott Full Range High Fidelity Receiver (AW-23).  They are field coil tweeters and will not work with a Philharmonic unless you incorporate substantial modifications.  Member Merle Jones is offering that pair of tweeters along with a woofer from the same model.

Norman

Norman,

Thank you! I have not seen the woofer.

OK, I don't have AW-23 and don't have any intentions to modify my radio.

Regards,

Leonid
