The Fine Things are Always Hand Made
Hi,
I have a pair of tweeters for my Phil, both with a two pin connector. The pedestal speaker has a larger two pin connector for hookup along with an extra grommet hole for connections to the terminal board under the cover. On the documentation, I see a note that mentions a "splice".
The question is, how was this originally done when the tweeters were purchased with the radio? I'd like to make it look as correct as possible.
thanks Bill

There were two types of tweeter setups used with the Philharmonic. The early setup consisted of the pair of tweeters connected to the woofer using a "Y" cable having the large format two-pin plug. The later version was the four unit speaker system where each tweeter had a smaller two pin plug and both tweeters plugged into a cross-over unit. It sounds like you have a pair of the later tweeters and the earlier woofer.

Norman,
Thanks for the reply. Certainly I have the earlier woofer. If these are the later tweeters, did the early tweeters connect to the "Y" cable via connectors or some other way? Also, were there any other differences in the tweeters that would prevent me from making my own cable?
