The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Scott Laureate in the later Oxford Cabinet

Made the 250 mile round trip today and picked up my latest find, a Laureate chassis in the Oxford cabinet. The cabinet is very nice original condition and the chrome is killer. Has the optional coaxial speaker too with the extra chassis/cross-over with a 19th tube.

The seller had bought this in 2003 at an antique mall and did some recapping himself since then. A new baby in his family forced him to sell it recently. We had to carry this big dog all through his house and out the back door into his back yard and then out his garage to my car.

Good thing I was feeling strong today !! Lesson learned is everyone should buy some of those moving men pads.

Congratulations on the new acquisition.  That is a very nice example of the Laureate in a an uncommon combination setup.  I know that Scott employed the Seeburg record changer in combination sets during the early 1940s but examples with that changer are scarce even though that changer held up over time much better than other models.  I was very tempted to bid myself but am presently quite overwhelmed with Scott projects.
