The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Lemke Philharmonic

This custom cabinet was specially built for Otto C. Lemke, president and treasurer of the Underwood Veneer Company in Marathon County, Wisconsin. The structure of the cabinet is similar to that of the Quaranta or Ravinia Grand with modifications to show off premium cuts of veneer. This radio was purchased from Karl Manthi who had purchased it from Otto Lemke's son, a doctor and the one that attended to Karl's birth! The Underwood Veneer Company made veneer for premium quality radio cabinets most likely including cabinets made for Scott radios.
