Norman , As I remember it had 6 to 8 bands on the radio dial with a violin in the center not sure if it had more than the one speaker, I'll have to dig up some pictures.
$4k is a about right for this cabinet in good condition with the Philharmonic or Phantom chassis offered with this cabinet. I paid $2.5k for an empty Gothic Grande cabinet for a Philharmonic a couple years ago. If in excellent condition and equipped with a Philharmonic chassis in excellent condition with tweeters, this model may command up to a maximum of around $8k.
Richard,
Pricing is very subjective, but from what I've seen on recent ebay auctions, I'm thinkin, you're thinkin right.
Bill , I've got my boots on,so when I kick myself in the b*t it'll hurt more than the magntude of the price of the radio ,I'm thinkin over $4000 ?
Richard,
They certainly are a Grande Design. Of course, condition is everything and one is only worth what one is willing to pay. I was willing to go an order of magnitude above $150. Let's just say your father was generous to a fault.
Bill
my father had one of these in working order until one of his "friends" took it off his hands for like $150 . I remember just sitting in front of that and "channel surf" for hours on end. And the record player worked too ! The craftsmanship was the best ,no particle board at all, the chrome tube covers and the electro-magnetic speaker was awesome. I think my father got in NY in the '40's, then moved it down to florida. How much are they worth now ?
