So I checked all of the tubes for fun and then this time I had perfect humless AM. There's nothing on SW. Switching back to AM, there's noise again. I notice that one of the 20uF 450V cans underneath (there's 3 in a row) is very hot to the touch. So I slide it out of the holder to lose the ground connection and I jumper in a new filter. No difference, so I put it back. Now another one is very hot. Same procedure. This one has no effect when totally removed from circuit. The big filter reactors on top have good resistance. What does this sound like to you? (I have a 500 ohm Hallicrafters speaker hooked up to the 600 ohm connection.)
