"That dial is used in a number of late 20s superhets...it will be useful to other collectors as well. Thanks for letting us know about this. Radio Daze wasn't at Kutztown last month (he's usually there), so I didn't get to talk to…"

"Just for reference for anyone else. This 1937 Lafayette catalog lists several different speaker mfgrs and many of them describe the power rating, voice coil and field impedance's beginning on page…"

"For my second Allwave 23 that was missing the speaker, I put together a new output transformer and made up the needed power resistors to replace the field coils. This lets me use any speaker system. Will check it all out soon. Thom. "

"Great info again, David. Thank you for the heads up also on the power application. "

"Here are the intended photos for the AW-12. (sorry for dups - in a hurry to go to dinner) 2nd photo of twin ROLA speakers: IMG_0198.JPG and 12 inch Jensen pedestal:  Allwave%2012%20-speaker%20rear%20view.jpg "

"The AW-23 uses a special 12 inch Scott branded Magnavox field coil pedestal speaker - and an optional pair of Jensen Q series tweeters to extend the audio frequency range. The pedestal speaker has two 5 pin sockets on the base. There are 2 versions…"

"Mark - re speakers: The AW-12 Wunderlich model was upgraded December 1932 with 58's in the IF amp  and the new Wunderluch tube 2nd detector adding AVC - but continued the pair of Scott badged ROLA field coil speakers (7.5 inch and 9 inch).…"

"By the way, just to add, your archives of information that you all have collected are amazing! I was a little concerned digging into this project once I got the radio, but now have a huge amount downloaded that provides excellent details about the…"

"Excellent recommendation. Just ordered one. Had seen these but the 450 was the high mark to get over. This is probably the only “battery” set I ever want to tackle. Looking forward to making it sing, while we still have AM stations…"

"Mark - You really don't need the 450v supply for the Super 10. I run mine on a supply that provides up to 135v, and it works very nicely. You may not need to bias the grid on the 10 quite as much with a lower plate voltage. An RCA tube manual…"

"Greatly appreciate all the comments and details. Just had a Radiola 100A delivered and hoping its working. Other radios that I have that are missing original speakers are an Allwave 12 deluxe (with Wunderlich) and a Imperial 23 (always looking for a…"

"For The Scott models of the 1930's, if you need to know what speaker is correct for any model, we can advise you, and provide a photo as well if you need a better photo than we included in the Scott Collector's Guide, 2nd edition. For your…"

"Aaaah yes!!.  The World's Record Super 10  - meaning the battery set of 1927-8, a kit set ??.  The era of the classic cone speaker, a high impedance magnetic speaker using a horse shoe magnet. Until Scott brought out the 1929…"

"Mark - Well, the 100A speaker will work well with the Super 10 and the type 10 output tube (10/210/310 are all the same). In fact, this is the high impedance speaker type Dave refers to (cone speakers). These speakers are generally not terribly…"
