The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

I have a AC-10 and the power supply uses 2-245 tubes, one 280 tube and a Amperite 12-20 tube.  The 12-20 tube's base is loose.  I believe they can be re-glued, but I was also researching the availability of 12-20 tubes and also if there was a replacement tube for it.

I found a sheet on antiqueradios.com (I can share the link, but wasn't sure I can put a link to another website for some admin or site rules)...the sheet noted that a 126 tube was a replacement.  I found some 126 tubes, but the 126 tubes have a four pin base, but the 12-20 is a two pin base.

Does anyone know if the 126 is a replacement for a 12-20 tube?
Do you cut off two of the four pins on the 126 and make it work?

Is there an adaptor base that the 126 tube plugs into and the adaptor would have two pins on it that would then get plugged in to the two pin socket on the power supply?

Or what's the "fix" or work around for a 12-20 tube?

to clarify this discussion for others.  The Amperite is bigger than a globe 45. Here is a 12-10 NIB that I found:

Box states for "receivers with an 80 - 85 volt primary". Unsure whether it is suitable sub for the proper 12-20 version after reading the blast tube list and info explaining the load is critical to regulator choice. There are 11 tubes in the AC-10, plus this regulator. But I will probably try the 12-10  when I eventually address this AC10, monitoring it, but suspect it is for fewer tube device.

Do not know how to interpret the Ampere number system, and the ballast tube list link earlier in this thread does not help. I also have another Amperite  - a 14-10 - which looks identical with 2 pins. Unknown specs. I did find a 2 page Amperite promotional with general info, but not these particular three regulators. Did have a life expectancy chart -  at max voltage 1000 hours but at 80% of max voltage 5000 hours. Said to contact Appetite with specs for a recommended tube.
