hit is a simple toggle switch ... an on/off switch. rotates right or left. 

probably original was broken  by forcing it due to failure to understand its use.

may be hard to find one with the long shaft. try Mark Oppat.

Kent: My BOL Philharmonic is totally missing the Scratch Suppressor. No shaft, no nothing attached to the chassis. Do you have one of these for sale or can you recommend what to use in its place? Is it just a potentiometer or something more complex?

Adding to this post (many of these sets are still available!):

I also have a LOT of coil covers, tube shields, tuner covers available. Some are rough, but they still can serve a purpose...I have several bad cans with holes drilled to assist with alignment for the Deluxe and AW15 sets. If you'd like a few rough cans to drill out for alignment, I'd be happy to send them for postage alone. Pictured is the set I keep in the workshop for doing restorations.
