Scott Philharmonic Beam of Light no log scale

Recent aquisition - Phil Beam of light in Warrington cabinet, no small log scale, 15" pedestal speaker. Unfortunately the glass part of scale did not survive overseas transportation :(

Here I can buy a new one:

Is it the best source of scales? Or do I have to look for the original one?

Alo one brass ring is missing - see the picture.

Another question: I also have Scott Phantom FM Delux. One 12" speaker. Decent overall condition.

My question is: do I have to keep it or there is no sence? I am fond of Scott radios, but never had in mind collecting all of them. Space is an issue, I have other consoles too...

Thank you for all your comments in advance!

Leonid,

Congratulations ;-)

In my modest opinion, put a repro scale is good while you find a original one.

Other way is to made another at your choice :http://radiofokus.ru/Radiofok/restavraciya/op_master/georg/Scott/sc...

I see your Warrington cabinet has missing the corners wood same the mine.

Do you plan to made others or leave the Warrington without?

I have the same problem (as you see in the pics of the album I have in this Ning web)and I am glad to ear from your opinion ;-)

Carlos, thank you!

I saw the restoration process (the link you've sent) by a Russian guy. The problem is he does not live in Russia. When he was writing it, he was living in Saudi Arabia.... I don't know where he is now.

Regarding the lattice trim missing - I have Phantom in the exactly same Warrington cabinet. The trim is there - so I will have to reproduce it. It is made of a simple thin plywood, so should not be a problem. If you want, I can make a scan for you.

Leonid

Hello Leonid,

I am interested in two lattice trim if you reproduce them in Russia.

¿It is possible?

By the way,a lot of russian tourists came this summer by Reus ;-)

carlos

I think it is possible to make the trims. I will check.

Russian tourisit do like warm climate and nice see - we don't have it here...

Jean Goller in Indiana has made a mold to reproduce these but I don't know if she has sold any by themselves. She has used them to restore Warrington cabinets.

They (John and jean Goller) have a nice web site with radios for sale and radio services.

Thanks Bruce.
