The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Selling my Allwave 23 Chassis in TASMAN Cabinet (1937-38)

Hello Fellow EH Scott Fans!

I am having to part with my Allwave 23 in TASMAN Cabinet and I wanted to give you all first rights of refusal before trying to sell it more widely.

Many thanks to David Poland for his knowledge and expertise when I first posted this nearly two years ago!

There are extra parts (knob, etc.) in the last two photos that are included in the sale.

I'm open to all reasonable offers.

Please message me here or at toddbecker@hotmail.com if interested.

I think UShip.com is the only reasonable shipping company that can handle a well over 100 pound radio like this, but I'm open to any other suggestions!

Please see all photos, and I'm happy to answer any questions that I can.  I'm not savvy in old school electronics, but I have been collecting radios for many years now.

It's time this one found a new home!

Thanks!

-Todd

A few more notes:

  • I have not tried to turn it on, as I was admonished to not do so for risk of damaging the unit.
  • Tweeters are there and appear to be in good form, as is the woofer.
  • All tubes are present and accounted for.  I have not yet tested them.
  • I imagine it would add value to the radio as a whole if some to all test well, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
  • I was told the grill cloth is a replacement, but I think it looks fine.
  • Radio is currently in my home in Scottsdale, AZ.
  • If you live in Southern California, I will be traveling there next week and I can bring it with me.
  • UShip forecasts a shipping rate of between ~$150-300 to go from AZ to Wisconsin, as a sample shipping cost.
  • When using UShip.com, you place the amount you're willing to pay to ship the unit.  Then, others contact you and agree to that amount.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

-Todd

Not to be rude, but the cabinet is poorly refinished.  It looks like polyurethane which is a real pain to strip, but hopefully the new owner can address that.

Ah, yes I did dust the radio right before taking photos so it looks on the "wet" side.

I will try to take another photo or two outside of direct sunlight and with it now "dry" to show the difference.

Thanks!

Todd

Radio is sold, thanks!

Todd
