The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Bringing an SLR-F back to life, but need schematic

Hello All;

    This is my first posting to the group. Pleased to be a part of it and see so many fine old Scott photos.

Now to the subject of my post...I have had an RBO and an SLR-f for almost 15 yrs now. RBO worked pretty well for a few years and then suddenly developed weak output. Tested the tube and found nothing and put it aside foir future repair bench project. Currently, I just brought back up the SLR-F which developed a similar porblem to the RBO. The SLR-F has had an S meter mod stuck into the panel where the tag SB, by am previous owner.  Meter used to work pretty well, but now registers low. Moves on strong signals but not what it should. Also, when it was working properly, the audio was clean and distortion free. Now there is plenty of volume, but it is much distorted? In addition, someone has done some rewiring on the 6H6 tube socket at right front of unit. Don't know if this was part of S meter mod or? I would like to validate the wiring present, but don't have a useable  schematic.  I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have as to where to look for my problems with this unit and if anyone has an electronically transmittable, good resolution\, schematic.

Thanks for any and all assistance!

Terry - I will send you a PDF of the SLRF manual via email. Let me know if you need additional help. - Kent

Kent;

     Great. Thanks for the assistance. Hopefully this will let me figure out what's going on with low audio and low s meter readins I am now experiencing on SLR-F. May be applicable to RBO also.

Best Regards,

Terry

Which RBO do you have? I have manuals for these models too, there are several versions (RBO, RBO-2, RBO-3)

Kent

Hi Kent;

    My RBO only has, on front 2 tags, RBO and CZC46139/ No -1, -2, or -3. Was there a basic RBO w/out a dash number?

Serial # is  3759.

It is complete except Plastic cover over slide rule tuning dial is completely gone and metal cover over rear tuning compartment missing.

Thanks for your help!

Terry

Terry -

That is enough info...the CZC-46139 is the RBO/SLR-12A. No dash number, it is the "first" series of the RBO family. I do not have the RBO manual scanned in, the only one I have a PDF for at present is the RBO-2. Probably similar, but let me see if I can get the RBO scanned in and I'll get it to you...
