dynamic scratch supressor

Hello all The Scott 800B I just got has the optional dynamic scratch supresser I have a Sams photofact on this Does anybody have any experince troubleshooting this unit? it is noisy on  one control setting. the other settings seem ok. How common were these? Thank you for any help you can give. Norman W.

There are a few of the 800B dynamic scratch suppressors around.  They are full of wax paper capacitors that look like domino type mica capacitors.  They are a likely culprit.
