The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Wanted to reach out for some ideas from the group.

IF aligned correctly with 600khz and 1400khz correctly set however pretty much everywhere in between is about 10khz off on the low side.

Shortwave bands are off considerable more and the top end can't be adjusted.

Amy thoughts?

I haven't seen the radio but i'm going to assume the variable capacitor is a typical type used in all north American receivers. These variable capacitors have slotted meshing plates which allow for trimming of the alignment in parts of the band.

If your radio has just such a variable capacitor and if these slotted plates have been fiddled with, this could be a cause for the symptoms you are witnessing.

Be sure the tuning cap mounting screws ate loosened and tightened again. Same for the terminal screws for each set of capacitor plate assemblies.
