Philharmonic selectivity/fidelity control popping

Hello,

Recapped Philharmonic when selectivity/fidelity control is rotated a popping sound is heard in a few spots on the control.

Has anyone else ran into this issue and have any suggestions to address?

Thanks

If the associated potentiometer is working ok, you will indeed get a popping noise, this is caused by the audio filter caps being switched, the popping happens as the control is rotated towards the left, looking at the front of the radio, look at page eleven in the early Philharmonic instruction manual,

top of this page, Scott info archive, set folders, Philharmonic, the manual looks like the photo below.

If you look at the schematic there is a lot of things happening with this control,

Mike

Which version of the Philharmonic is it?

I have an early pointer dial set

Very interesting and I thought I had issues with my set. Helps to read the manual. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have been looking in the wrong direction for far too long.
