Scott 2-DIAL in a LANCASTER cabinet available in northern (Warren) Ohio
I was contacted by someone who recently inherited this radio and wants to sell it. I have photos.
This radio looks complete with correct knobs. Plus an owners manual and full set of short wave coils. The 2-DIAL is a 12 tube model (9 tube receiver and 3 tube power amp) with standard single 11 inch Rola speaker with Scott decal. This 1931 model is the first of Scott's chrome radios of the 1930's. Chrome looks good from the photos. The tube shields and coil covers are aluminum and will polish up almost like chrome.
The LANCASTER cabinet is an early 1930's highboy with doors and correct for this model, and a hinged lift top. Finish looks good from the photos. It is a less common cabinet. Scott priced the LANCASTER at $45, whereas the entry level TASMAN was $18.50 and the PLYMOUTH cabinet was $25.
I have not seen this set in person, but looks like a good opportunity for someone.

John - my 1st reply failed. trying again.
I had no response until your's today. Seller wanted it sold and did not want to try Craig's lLst nor ebay. So it went to Estes Auction and has sold. I could not attend that week so I don't know details. There is a photo appended above. Note the missing stretcher base.

Hi Dave,
There is a huge problem with the cabinet. It is missing the support bracing on the legs. You don't have any early Moderne cabinet by chance. I need some photos of the legs and base.

the best I can offer is the cabinet section of the Scott Documents site. The picture of the Lancaster shows the configuration of stretcher bas (leg brace). Did you buy the item at Estes Auction?

No I did not buy it. I have one with the support brace on the legs. Though that brace is broken.
