The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

I have an 800 chassis that I bought some years ago without a speaker or cabinet.  I'd like to get it working again but have some confusions about the speakers.  I understand that some were PM and some electromagnetic and the ones with PM's have a resistor to add some impedance substitution for the coil in the EM version.  Was there an electrical difference in the 2 versions?  I'm assuming that the PM version utilized a choke in the power supply. If there was a difference in the electronics, how can I tell which version I have.  Thanks in advance!

Coupling capacitors to the grids of the output tubes for sure as a preventive measure even if they still work.  Also the 25-mfd cathode filter on the output tubes.  Failure of these components may cause damage to transformers.  Other capacitors may also require replacement but they will only cause performance problems and possibly overheat easily replaced resistors.

light oil on motor drive - like sewing machine oil, not 3 in 1. Like with a phono, don't want the oil to gum up.

The usual filter caps and the caps including bathtub caps like the .05 and .01 MFD.

Be sure the relays work smoothly.

Helped me to use color pencils to color the B+ red and other colors for some circuits to improve the diagram.

Most of the FM circuits are in the amp chassis.

It came with a loop antenna, but a long wire is fine for AM & SW. A separate terminal strip for the FM antenna like for any FM tuner or a vintage TV rabbit ears works too.

And have fun, don't rush it.

No rush here.  Planning is the key to most of these things I've done.
