McMurdo-Silver Masterpiece VI T10 Interstage Transformer Missing

Hi! My McMurdo-Silver Masterpiece 6 is currently being professionally restored and the project is going well except for one pretty big road block. The T10 interstage transformer in my unit is missing, and it is quite unique in design. Yes, we have found a few transformers that will *work*, however there is always a big compromise in performance. On top of that, this radio being a very high-end model with a complete known pedigree from the day it left the factory (I am its 2nd owner!), I…See More

7-knob Allwave 23 | Muffled Sound

Hi,A gentleman from the Chicago area has reached out to me through Facebook because he is having issues with his Allwave 23. He bought it a couple years ago from a collector who had recapped it and it should theoretically be in good operating condition. It has two tweeters with the Westminster cabinet. The problem is that he can't get it to sound ''right''. He says the sound is muffled with too much bass, can't get any treble out of it (All About That Bass...).I first asked what kind of antenna…See More

McMurdo-Silver MP6 Custom T10 Audio Interstage Transformer

Hi there folks,About 1.5 year ago I took a little break in restoring my McMurdo-Silver Masterpiece VI because it is missing its T10 audio interstage transformer. Thanks to members of this forum, I now have most of the specifications I need in order to find a sub. Its primary winding measures 1500ohms, each of the secondaries measure 4000 ohms, and the ratio between the primary and each secondary is about 1:2. Using this data, a friend of mine tried to wind a custom transformer from a random…See More
