I bought a Laureate and power supply in fairly good condition. A little surface rust and a GOOD DIAL glass.  However when I received the tuner you can see bent the chassis is now.  The Ebay seller packed them both in one box NOT a crate or two boxes. I purchased from the same seller a pair of Scott A12 speakers with the "network" connector probably for am/fm phantom.  I received the speakers yesterday. Poor packing again.  One speaker shifted during shipment and rammed into the cone of the…See More

"The speaker connection is a two pin socket located to the right of the power cord.  The four pin connection next to the speaker connection is to power up a turntable.  The speaker socket is wired for a eight ohm speaker."

Hi, Robert:

I've never done a "comment" before.  Don't even know how!  Thanks for your thoughts.  that is really thinking outside the box!

I already have a 6.5v supply feeding into the chassis to supply the David Winter FM module I have substituted in for the blue band.  I  think it is running about 5.5v with a couple of series diodes I put in there to drop the voltage..  I could likely stick in something like a 6CB6, which are good to about 40mhz and pull out one of the diodes to get the filament voltage right.   I'd have to jump some screen voltage over to it, but it might be a fun experiment.  I'm trying to add some windings to the oscillator coil to make it reach the low end better, but I suspect trouble on the high end after I am finished.  Hmm.  I'd have to make a tube adapter....No idea if that 6CB6 will oscillate in that circuit.  It's really an amplifier.  Man, you really have me  thinking.....

Thanks for the thought!

Best

Mike
