I'd buy it but I can't drive that far!!
Yes John , it is the same radio I have for sale on EBay. Jay
Is this the radio on Ebay right now from Huntington Beach, Ca?
Buy a keyway to replace the broken off keyway. The replacement keyway fits over all the pins. A careful inspection of your broken plug should reveal how to orient the new keyway, but you need to do some tracing to be sure - refer to the Scott Masterpiece technical info including the circuit diagram, which is available in the INFO ARCHIVE in SET FOLDERS in this web site.
These keyways made by and are available from Bob Dobush. http://www.findatube.com.
Were made especially for output tubes like 6V6, 6L6 ... too expensive to discard for a broken keyway.
Thanks for the info Norman ! I did know better than to plug in. I will check for the broken tab. Thanks again.
The set is a Scott Masterpiece in the Bremer cabinet. It is a scarce model in a common cabinet. It has a value in the range of $400 to $800. The key has broken off from the center of the eight pin plug. If you look carefully at the break, you should be able to identify the location of the rib that was on the key and align the rib with the slot in the socket. If you are uncertain, ask for help from someone who has experience testing octal tubes with broken keys. Turning the set on with the plug oriented incorrectly can cause serious damage.
Norman
She had unplugged all of the cords in the back for some reason...2 of the 3 would only plug in one way...the 3rd on that comes from the speaker seems to plug in any way i try....i wanted to check this out to see if it works but I didnt want to damage anything by plugging in incorrectly....Any help as to the correct way to plug it in and any other information on this would be greatly appreciated....This is all new to me....Thanks Jay
