Hello Mr Sloane: my apologies to you, i had a store to close and move everything to storage. it was quite an undertaking. i will be checking my E.H. Scott messages tomorrow, and maybe we can converse about the Philharmonic that i have for sale if you are still interested. the photo you have of my philly is the same one i am selling. You see, i am 75+ years old, and the move was overwhelming to say the least. I wanted to bring this one back to life, and what i mean by that is, i closed a electronics store recently that was 71 years old, we repaired electronics and also tube mono/stereo equipment, we always brought our electronics up on a variac and never ever plugged them in to see if it lighted up!! so, i have never plugged the philharmonic into a wall socket. i did have one member tell me after i gleefully told everyone of my find, that he thought maybe all i may have to do is change out the capacitors, and he also said, and i bet it will work. well all i had time to do was to test a few of the tubes and all that i had tested on a tv-7 army surplus tube tester after it was calibrated professionally were all excellent. i may have tested about 15. then i had to get back to reality and take care of my customers. so, i am not sure what all i can do for you, but i am available to talk about my baby. oh, by the way, i hate the use of philly to describe this radio, A 1939 Philharmonic deserves a little respect after all of the world events it has reported on. this Philharmonic was 3-3/4 old when i was born in october of 1943. after i reported the serial number to mr. Braithewith he thought it may have been built around December maybe as a Christmas Gift. well thank you for being a friend of E.H. Scott's Products.
