All-Wave 27 (Baby Quaranta) Ownership Report

I did some digging around here on the Enthusiasts site and on Antiqueradios.com trying to pull together some of the information published on the 20 All-Wave 27s found to date. This report is what I came up with so far. Much of the information is dated and I’m sure some of these radios have changed ownership and we have a lot of missing information on these radios. I hope some of you out there can help contribute more information on your AW 27s and other AW 27 sets not accounted for here.  Also, I have a couple of questions at the end on AW 27 sets that were mentioned by collectors but there was no real detail on them.

Thanks for your help on this and Merry Christmas!!

QUESTIONS REGARDING OTHER ALL-WAVE 27s NOTE LISTED HERE: The second edition of: E.H. Scott...The Dean of DX" has photos of an All-Wave 27 in a Ravinia Grande cabinet with single play photograph. This radio attributed to John Slusser's collection. Is this another All-Wave 27 in a Ravinia Grande cabinet or is it the one from the Muchow Auction? Norm mentions another All-Wave 27 in a Warwick cabinet with Presto 12” lathe exist, does anyone know who owns this radio or have information on it?

The Merle Jones receiver was purchased from Anthony Trease.  I believe Merle has since resold the set.

The Warwick Grande originally equipped with an AW-27 (not mine) and including full recording and playback equipment was featured in an issue of JFW Puett's Classic Radio Collectors Newsletter and ownership is attributed to Joe Halser.

About 15-years ago a pair (yes two identical) AW-27 sets in Waverly consoles turned up in an estate auction in Idaho.  I do not know the current disposition of these sets but they are not likely accounted for on any list.

Thanks for the info. Norm!
