The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

My recently acquired AW 23 (early) has 2 GE tubes that are push in and turn. They have no number on them. What are the purpose and name for them. I amd new to Scott radios.

Those pair of twist tubes at the right front of the receiver are voltage regulator tubes. Each is a 75 volt neon regulator.  They are NE-42's.  They are wired in series, to reduce the voltage fed to the oscillator plate to a constant 150 volts.  After the radio is on a few seconds they should produce a fairly bright orange glow.   If they glow, they should be OK.
