The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Hi Everybody,

New guy here. My new aw23 is performing beyond my wildest dreams, but there are a couple issues. When I got it, the original power transformer had a replacement piggy-back monstrosity. It was missing one 2a3, which wasn't a problem, but there was a 5z3 tube in the 83-v rectifier socket. I didn't have an 83-v so, not having the patience I should have, I fired it up with the two 5z3s. Would prolonged usage damage anything? Any leads on an original transformer also appreciated.

Thanks, Tom C.

I would seek the proper 83-V. And get a 2nd as a spare, too. There may be current issues and voltage issues using the 5Z3 as a substitute. .

Thanks David,

I'll take your advice.
