The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Currently restoring 4 McMurdo-Silver chrome plated chassis: two Masterpiece Vs and two 15-17s. Need a power supply/amplifier chassis for one Masterpiece V, and an original 15" speaker for same.  Would prefer an 18" Jensen pedestal speaker if one can be found.

Have 2 cabinets to eventually sell, an Oxford and a Norwich. Would like to speak with someone about values for these cabinets, I know the Norwich is quite rare, it is the one with record player on top.  I have the record player and it works.

Would appreciate any help with this project, as I am a newbie as far as McMurdo-Silver is concerned.  I do own a Scott Allwave 23.

Yes. John Goller showed me a part which he had rechromed by Advanced Plating, and that was all I needed to see to make up my mind, as the piece looked perfect. :-)

Hi Ron, I've had 4 McMurdo Silvers (2 MP Vs, 2 15-17s) rechromed by a firm in California, they did a nice job.   I go through a fellow in Roanoke Virginia.

Just acquired a Clifton repro and plan to list on eBay with a 15-17 and 2 12" Jensens.  Am debating how to mount the Jensens, thinking of using a "V" board instead of mounting to front.  The existing speaker board is for a Super Giant and thought it would be best to leave it in place in case buyer wants to use a Super Giant.  I seem to remember reading that McMurdo used a V board and 2 12s, do you recall that?  Thanks, Phil

I haven't seen two 12 inch speakers used with a 15-17. A friend of mine has a few 15-17 sets, and I believe his use a single 15 inch Jensen in each set.
