EH Scott Radio Enthusiasts

The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Appears to be a utilitarian variant of the 800. No chrome or evidence of a SN tag but lots of Scott "goodness" below. With the 25L6 outputs, no audio piece, and has a PM speaker. Guess is a military or university build order, bent on reception. Probably have some fun with this.

Only the one tag, and again, no serial no. Or any evidence of a such a tag

Appears to be the post WW2 Scott Export model, making use of surplus WW2 morale receivers designs originally for the Nave and Merchant Marine.

I hunted down guy who had this before the present owner. Tells me his dad bought it in early 60s from Navy surplus at Chicago Naval Yard. Didn't have the heart to picture the cabinet that was solid oak and appeared to be built arguably by a Navy wood shop. Unit has military issued tubes common in field equipment. The 1619 "eye" tube rather gives it away. Lots of room, sized like those big powered 70s receivers.... 17.5 X 19.5" so not going in any "radio" cabinet I'm aware of.
