EH Scott Radio Enthusiasts

The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

Hello All,

Just a moment to introduce myself. My name is Jeff, I have been collecting since 2014, mostly tombstone table top sets. Since console space is at a premium I decided a while ago to try and find a very high quality console. I have luckily just come into possession of a Scott Imperial High Fidelity Receiver in a Laureate Grande cabinet. I am going to have plenty of questions I am sure as I work through the repair process. Thank you to the folks who put this site together. I was reading through the owners manual for my set last night and it is great that the information is organized and available. I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks now and found some excellent information on molding and reproduction which I had never thought to apply to this hobby before.

Before I start in with the questions I will have a look and see what has already been answered. Cabinet photo below. The chassis and speakers are all out of it at the moment awaiting inspection/repair.

Cheers,

Jeff

Very nice!  I'm glad you were able to procure that set.  Guidance for electronic restoration of the tuner chassis can be found on this site at http://ehscott.ning.com/photo/albums/aw23-restoration-checklist

Norman

Tis the early/first version of 1935.  Referred to as the 5 knob AW-23.

Be sure you refer to the 1935 dated diagram.

Kent will want the serial number for the ongoing serial number project.

Norman. Thank you for having the tuner restoration guide. That will definitely save some time.

Dave. I will be sure to get the serials over to Kent.

I added some more info on the your ARF thread.

Once again Jeff, very nice set.  I too have been commenting and following your ARF thread:  ketron281989.

Welcome to the forum and great find!

Jon
