Location Of Inner Tube Shields On A Philharmonic

In deciding to polish my Philharmonic chass, I removed all of the tube shield bases I could. However in my haste, I did not diagram the locations of the tubes that have the inner shields. Having just purchased the enhanced Riders from Ebay, the photo is still not clear enough to determine all of the locations.

Would someone be kind enough to provide me with a picture or diagram with the correct locations of these inner tube shields?  Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

 

I also wanted to know if $250 + or -  sounds like a good price to get the power supply base rechromed?

I have purchased a stripped base off of Ebay and gotten a ballpark from Paul's Plating.

Which Philly do you have? Pointer, Deluxe, FM....let me know and I'll be happy to get you the info.

If the $250 quote for plating includes the covers on the power transformer and chokes (four to five pieces each, some of which have show chrome on inside bends), it is almost to good to be true.  Then again, I use a local California plating service that has to comply with the most stringent environmental requirements in the nation.

I also recently acquired a pair of the chrome choke covers off Ebay that are in very nice condition.

I didn't get the transformer cover, but it wasn't as nice as these two.

I contacted a plater here in NH, and have received no reply????

Hi Kent,

I just replied, but it didn't come up. I believe mine is the the dial pointer chassis. Here is a pic

Gene - OK...here is the list of the tubes where you need the inner shields:

both RF amps

converter

all four IF tubes

RF AGC

IF Diode

If you have trouble figuring these out: all the tubes that have a grid lead running from a coil or the tuner cover, and the IF diode, which is the 3rd tube back from the front in the second row from the left as you face the chassis.

BTW...when you do your restoration, be sure to replace the capacitors in that bass choke assembly...they can create some odd audio problems if they are leaky.

Thank you Kent! I can now do the reassembly.  Aslo thanks for the tip on the capacitors, I figure this set should have them restuffed which may take me a while as I haven't done any paper caps this way yet. I have done some electrolytic cans but thats all. It is not a task I am looking forward to.
