The Fine Things are Always Hand Made
In our Scott Info Archive (link above), there is a folder for Cabinets. These are all images of cabinets presently in collections. I have added a new folder in the Cabinets area - Missing Cabinets. These are all Scott advertised cabinets for which we have no modern photo - meaning they may not be in ANY collection. I'd like to know if anyone has one of the Missing Cabinets, and if you could share photos of these very scarce cabinets.
Anyone?

I noticed there's a folder for custom cabinets. The red and black one called "chinoiserie" is a Stromberg-Carlson Mandarin or otherwise Chinese-themed style. It came in several versions including with TV and radio/phono as well as just radio/phono. The one on Radio Museum is red and black, exactly like the one you show. I also found the same cabinet but with a different paint scheme on eBay.

Yep - red one is mine. Needed a cabinet for my 1941 Scott Laureate with the optional 15 inch coax. Found the mid 1950's red version S-C console locally with TV still inside and judged it would accommodate this Scott or any other pre-war Scott - although be a really a tight fit for a Philharmonic requiring really careful placement of the shelf and floor. Cabinet was wracked a bit and took some effort with braces and pocket hole joinery to repair. Exterior and doors all original, Gutted it and relocated receiver platform shelf higher to accommodate the 15 inch speaker below. Added a lower floor for the power supply and crossover. Freed the top and added a cross brace to support hinges for a lift top. Black lacquered the inside, under side of the top and front panel area. Installed correct escutcheons. Have now substituted black 800 B type knobs, and set aside the walnut "S" knobs. This radio is electrically restored, but FM drifts until it is well warmed up. I have a digital frequency shifter ahead of the FM antenna terminals so I can tune the modern FM band with the radio's tuning knob.
It is an eye catcher. And a fun project. Could substitute a control panel for another model Scott, given a correctly cut panel. The Asian theme doors are hand painted with artist name. I have a photo of the black version cabinet but the Asian artwork is very different.
