The Fine Things are Always Hand Made
Hello Members,
My name is Larry Lindsey and I am pleased to join your group. I’ve only been in the hobby for five years but I seem to have gone overboard with this new interest. Of all the radios I have collected, I have ended up with six Scotts and am long overdue for expert assistance. Here’s the breakdown.
AW12-restored and picture provided (need correct grille cloth)
AW23-restored and picture provided
24 tube Phantom Deluxe with Chippendale cabinet. Original cabinet with restored electronics.
AW12- unknown cabinet, electronics restored, cabinet being refinished.
AW 23- Westerly Grande cabinet w/phono(missing), electronics restored, cabinet being refinished.
28 tube Philharmonic, electronics restored, Warrington cabinet needs restoration.
I did not set out to collect Scotts but the opportunities just presented themselves.
My needs—The correct grille cloth and record changer mentioned above, the correct record changer for the Phantom Deluxe (what came with it?) and a piece of Tamo wood veneer to repair small missing pieces on my Westerly cabinet.
Any help will be appreciated
Larry

Welcome a board,Larry! ;-)
Welcome to the group!
Have been wondering when you would sign up.
Hello Larry, I have a piece of Japanese Tamo wood for your Westerly Grande. What size do you need?
E-mail me at radman_1@msn.com
Larry, I appreciate your enthusiasm for antique radios. However, being a Scott radio site, I wish you had resisted the urge to upload your extensive file of other brands of radio photos. You have buried Scott photos more recently uploaded by others.
Photos of higher radios of Scott competitor's have been deemed appropriate in the past - such as McMurdo Silver, Lincoln, Fisher and certain rare Zenith, etc.
FYI - There is a photo maximum for this application, which was exceeded sometime ago. Now, as new photos are added, an equal number of the oldest photos are dropped.
About a year ago I heard about this site and attempted to join in. Unfortunately I had problems and abandoned efforts until a few days ago. I enlisted a friend who frequents forums and he guided me through the process. He encouraged me to add the radios and I trusted his judgment although I was not comfortable with it. I apologize and will work to delete the photos
Larry.
Welcome Larry!
Like you, I also did not set out to collect Scotts. But unlike you, the opportunities haven't really presented themselves, either.
So I just got my first one a week ago.

Larry - Welcome...when you have a chance, I would really like to get the serial numbers of your sets. Thanks!

Larry,
for your 1st AW-12, are you sure? Seems way too high a "Q" serial number.
maybe 381 ? or 331?
You are right, a recheck revealed 381.
